Dara Cheek (Hieropice) - visual artist, jeweler, instructor

I live in Boston, where my apartment has become overrun with the glass terrariums, jewelry, glass and metal sculpture I make. I started making art by doing portraits of those adorable Filene's stuffed holiday bears (that they no longer sell!) when I was 4, and graduated from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts/Tufts University with a degree in, well, Fine Arts (metals/glass concentration). Crafting is my passion, and though I think no one creates more beautifully than nature, I do my best to compete. I've traveled to several countries around the world in search of inspiration, and found it in the color palettes, indigenous crafts, and natural environment of the places I've been lucky enough to visit. Hopefully, Hieropice inspires you, too!
